Let’s Start

We’d like to talk a little bit about our puzzle-solving two visit turn-around approach. I have branded myself as the puzzle solver in regards to patients that come to my office as a last resort, trying to deal with unresolved conditions. The two visit turn-around is a wonderful process of investigation to determine whether or not that chronic condition that you suffer from will respond well to the tools that we use in my office.

The approach that I take to assessing a new patient is very comprehensive. We begin by performing a very thorough evaluation, including reviewing the patient’s case history and assessing them through physical and neurological examination. We then employ a variety of unique tools, dependent upon individualized findings, to resolve whatever chronic conditions they may be facing.

One of the tools that we use in the office is called Trigenics®. Trigenics® is a neuromuscular technique that helps to reconnect neurological function of the motor strip and the parietal cortex. These areas of the brain both contain particular maps of the body, which help to coordinate specific functions related to movement and sensory input. In relation to motion, the motor strip, located in the frontal lobe, is where the body sends messages down to the periphery of the body to signal and execute the movement of various appendages. The parietal cortex, which is the sensory component of our brain, signals a wide array of sensations and cognitive recognitions, such as touch perception (ie. vibration, hot or cold) facial recognition and special orientation.

When we have aberrant motion, especially with pain and inflammation; the ability of the body to send a message and receive a message becomes somewhat distorted.  It is sort of like a radio station that is not quite tuned in. Have you ever had that experience driving along in your car, inadvertently driving away from a radio transmitter and your favorite song comes on the radio but is unbearably static and you find yourself unable to keep listening? It is that lack of communication in the brain itself that Trigenics® reconnects, or dials back in.

At Capital District Vitality Center, we also employ a tool called a cold laser.  There are different types of cold lasers.  I have used cold laser therapy for over 20 years. The laser that we are using currently in the office is a 25-watt class IV cold laser. The ability of this tool to resolve inflammation and irritation is truly astounding. It also increases mitochondrial function. The mitochondria within the cell is the little powerhouse that makes energy. Muscles and nerves are immensely dependent on energy for normal function.

Along with our Class IV cold laser, we use a tool called a pulsed electromagnetic field, or P.E.M.F. machine. Pulsed electromagnetics is electromagnetic energy and laser is photic or light.  The two of these together form an incredibly powerful tag team for increasing muscle physiology and mitochondrial replication, as well as for repairing and reducing inflammation.

Depending on the outcome of your physical examination, oftentimes there is a contribution from a spinal perspective. In this case we would employ something called lumbar intersegmental traction, if it is appropriate. We also a medical device called a Rebuilder. Every nerve in the human body fires at a specific rate; 7.83 hertz to be exact. This is the same frequency that the Rebuilder uses and it is very powerful, particularly for rebuilding nerves.

We also incorporate a piece of technology in our treatment protocol called the Hako-Med. The Hako-Med is the leading bioelectric medical device which is used to treat pain chronic conditions. This device also has the ability to increase circulation and regenerate cells through stimulation of mitosis.

As an example of the many different conditions we treat, let us look at peripheral neuropathy.  Peripheral means far away. There is obviously a distance between the location of the brain to the hands and the feet. Neuropathy is a description of nerve irritation. Peripheral neuropathy is when a patient presents with aberrant sensations in their hands and feet (or both). This is a chronic condition and one we have great success in treating. After we perform an initial exam, we offer two follow-up visits to give the patient an exposure to the appropriate therapies based off their condition. We grade from the examination and the response to those first two treatments whether or not an individual would be a good fit for the office. If we do not see some notable change in symptoms within those two visits, we would not take a patient on.

There are many chronic pain conditions: shoulder pains, knee problems, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, failed back surgeries, neck problems, failed neck surgeries. The type of ailments that we have the best results with treating are the ones that have a constant or long-term presence and refuse to go away. Many of our patients come to us as a last resort, when their health challenges have been deemed incurable or a lost cause by other practitioners. There is hope.
